What is Safuu?

Safuu Intel is Ethiopia's anonymous anti-corruption intelligence platform. It exists to give ordinary citizens a safe, powerful, and technically sophisticated way to report corruption — without fear of identification, retaliation, or bureaucratic obstruction.

Corruption in Ethiopia steals from schools, hospitals, roads, and futures. Every birr misappropriated is a child's education unfunded, a patient untreated, a community left behind. Safuu exists because silence is complicity — and because the tools now exist to break that silence safely.

One of SAFUU's most important protections is the progressive disclosure system. No official's name is immediately published — doing so could enable false accusations or targeted harassment.

Safuu draws from a long tradition of civic accountability journalism. Ida B. Wells used the press to expose injustice when no institution would. The Green Book gave Black Americans safe passage through hostile territory. The Black press documented what mainstream media ignored.

Safuu applies this tradition to Ethiopia — combining the investigative spirit of Ida B. Wells with modern cryptography, AI forensics, and collaborative intelligence. The goal is not to replace institutions, but to give citizens the tools to hold them accountable.
